खबरदार जो गाजर घास को विदेशी कहा तो-----
गाजर घास के साथ मेरे दो दशक (भाग-26)
आज सभी इस सत्य को जानते है कि गाजर घास आयातित गेहूँ के साथ विदेश से भारत लायी गयी पर हमारे बीच विशेषज्ञो का एक ऐसा समूह भी है जो इस नग्न सत्य को झुठलाने मे जुटा हुआ है। अलग-अलग मंचो से जब भी कोई इस सत्य को दोहराता है तो वे खडे होकर अपना विरोध जताते है। ये वरिष्ठ है और कनिष्ठो विशेषकर उनके नीचे काम कर रहे कनिष्ठो पर जबरदस्त बनाये हुये है। जब इस सत्य को दर्शाता कोई शोध पत्र प्रकाशित किया जाता है तो भी इसमे कैची चला दी जाती है। विशेषज्ञो का यह समूह तर्क देता है कि आयातित गेहूँ के साथ लाये जाने से दशको पहले से गाजर घास भारत मे उपस्थित थी। वे एक ऐसे शोध पत्र का हवाला देते है जिसमे कहा गया है कि गाजर घास बहुत पहले से भारत मे है। यह दावा सत्य से परे लगता है। यदि गाजर घास पहले से उपस्थित है तो फिर क्यो नही यह पूरे देश मे उस गति से फैली जिस गति से आजादी के बाद लाये जाने के बाद फैली। फिर एक ही शोधकर्ता ने ऐसा दावा क्यो किया है? यदि गाजर घास पहले से थी तो इसका उल्लेख उस समय की प्रसिद्ध पुस्तको मे आना चाहिये था। पर उन पुस्तको मे इसके विषय मे कुछ नही लिखा है। आप यदि वयोवृद्ध किसानो से पूछेंगे तो भी वे आपको बता देंगे कि यह उनके सामने आयी और फिर देखते ही देखते फैल गयी।
मुझे नही पता कि कितने भारतीय गाजर घास जैसे नीरस समझे जाने वाले विषय पर लिखी जा रही इस लेखमाला को पढ रहे है पर विदेशो मे इसे अनुवादित कर पढा जा रहा है। विशेषज्ञ नजर जमाये हुये है कि इतने विस्तार से ‘उनके पौधे’ के विषय मे आखिर लिखा क्या जा रहा है? परसो ही गाजर घास के उपयोग पर शोध कर रहे विदेशी विशेषज्ञ ने मुझे लिखा कि आपने अपने हिन्दी लेख मे गाजर घास के उपयोग के विषय मे कम लिखा है। हम जानना चाहते है कि आखिर भारतीय कैसे इसका उपयोग विशेषकर औषधीय उपयोग कर रहे है? क्यो जानना चाहते है? शायद इसलिये कि जब इस पर नयी जानकारी मिले तो उसे पेटेंट कराने के लिये वे यह दावा कर सके कि चूँकि इसका उत्पत्ति स्थान उनका देश है इसलिये इस पर पहला अधिकार उनका है। यह वही बात हुयी कि जब लडके ने उत्पात मचाया तो उसे पहचानने से इंकार कर दिया पर जब उसकी लाटरी लगी तो आ गये दावा जताने। मैने उनसे पूछा कि क्या आप मानते है कि यह आयातित गेहूँ के साथ भारत लायी गयी। उन्होने बिना झिझक जवाब दिया ‘हाँ। विश्व साहित्य इसके गवाह है।‘ यह तो गजब हो गया कि विदेशी जिस सत्य को स्वीकार रहे है उसी बात को झुठला कर कतिपय विशेषज्ञ अपने आकाओ को खुश करने मे लगे है।
कुछ वर्षो पहले आस्ट्रेलिया के कुछ विशेषज्ञ मुझसे मिलने आये। जिस बबूल को हम कल्पवृक्ष मानते है और दिन की शुरुआत से प्रयोग करना आरम्भ करते है वही बबूल आस्ट्रेलिया के लिये मुसीबत बना हुआ है। यह भारत से वहाँ पहुँचा और फिर इतनी तेजी से फैला कि अब इस फैलाव को रोकने के लिये करोडो खर्च करने पड रहे है। वे इसका उपयोग नही करते। उनका कहना है कि इस विदेशी वनस्पति से उनकी मूल वनस्पतियो के अस्तित्व को खतरा पैदा हो गया है। विशेषज्ञ यह जानना चाहते थे कि कैसे भारतीय इससे निपटते है? भारतीय बबूल के इतने उपयोग जानते है कि बबूल से निपटने की बजाय उसे रोपते भी है। मुझे लगता है कि भारतीयो को भी गाजर घास के उत्पत्ति स्थान पर जाकर वहाँ के लोगो से मिलना चाहिये और उनसे उपयोगो को जानना चाहिये। कुछ विशेषज्ञ वहाँ जा भी चुके है। वे बताते है कि वहाँ गाजर घास ऊँचाई मे बहुत कम होती है और उसमे नाना प्रकार के रोगो और कीटो का आक्रमण होता रहता है। ये प्राकृतिक दुश्मन उसे बढने से रोके रहते है। जैसा मैने पहले लिखा है कि भारत मे गाजर घास अकेले लायी गयी। इसलिये उसके मजे हो गये और वह बिना किसी बाधा के फैलती जा रही है।
