"राईस एलिलोपैथी" और औषधीय धान लाइचा

भले ही छत्तीसगढ़ को धान का कटोरा कहकर हमारे योजनाकार इतराते हों पर यह कडवा सत्य है कि राज्य में औषधीय धान के विभिन्न प्रकारों की कटोरा  भर भी सुध कभी नही ली गयी|  इसका दुष्परिणाम यह हो रहा है कि अब लाइचा जैसे औषधीय धान ढूँढे नही मिलते हैं| 

कुछ वर्षों पहले इंटरनेशनल राईस रिसर्च इंस्टीटयूट, फिलीपींस में डा.मारिया ओलोफ्सडाटर ने ऐसी धान की प्रजाति की खोज के लिए करोड़ो रुपये पानी की तरह बहाए जिसमे अपने आस-पास उगने वाले खरपतवारों को नष्ट करने की क्षमता हो| अर्थात सीधे शब्दों में यदि कहा जाय तो एक बार धान के विशेष प्रकार को खेत में लगाने के बाद खरपतवार नियंत्रण की जरूरत ही नही| धान के पौधों से निकलने वाला प्राकृतिक रसायन जिसे वैज्ञानिक भाषा में एलिलो रसायन कहा जाता है, अपने आस-पास उगने वाले बेकार समझे जाने वाले खरपतवारों को नष्ट करने का माद्दा रखते है| मारिया ने दुनिया भर से एकत्र किये गये हजारों धान के प्रकारों पर प्रयोग किये पर उन्हें सफलता नही मिली| मारिया को बहुत से पुरूस्कार भी मिले और कहा गया कि उनका एह अनूठा प्रयोग जिसे आधुनिक विज्ञान "राईस एलिलोपैथी" के नाम से जानता है, उनकी अनूठी सोच का परिणाम है| 

भले ही छत्तीसगढ़ के किसान विशेषकर पारम्परिक चिकित्सक "राईस एलिलोपैथी" जैसे भारी-भरकम शब्दों को नही जानते पर वे दसों प्रकार के ऐसे धान को जानते हैं जिसमे ये गुण प्राकृतिक रूप से पाए जाते हैं| इनमे से ज्यादातर धान औषधीय धान है जिनका प्रयोग पारम्परिक चिकित्सा में होता रहा है| लाइचा नामक औषधीय धान इन अनोखे प्रकारों में से एक है| क्या धान की कोई एक किस्म सभी प्रकार के खरपतवारों को समाप्त करने में सक्षम है? यह प्रश्न अहम है पर इसका उत्तर नकारात्मक है| पारम्परिक चिकित्सक बताते हैं कि विशेष औषधीय धान ख़ास तरह के खरपतवारों पर ही अपना असर डालते हैं| पीढीयों पहले जब सोल और आल्टरनेंथेरा जैसे खरपतवारों ने छत्तीसगढ़ की धरती पर कदम नही रखा था तब सांवा, नरजेवा, सोमना, चुह्का और बदौर जैसे खरपतवार किसानो के लिए सिरदर्द माने जाते थे| लाइचा का प्रयोग उन खेतों में होता था जहां सांवा की अधिकता होती थी| माई सांवा पर इसका विशेष प्रभाव होता था| खेतों में लाइचा लगाने से पूर्व तरह-तरह के उपचार किये जाते थे| बीजों को वानस्पतिक घोलों में भिगोया जाता था| खेत में आस-पास उगने वाले औषधीय वृक्षों के सत्व डाले जाते थे| इस पूरी परेड का उद्देश्य लाइचा के पौधों को मजबूत बनाना था ताकि पानी से भरे खेत में वह पर्याप्त मात्रा में एलिलोरसायनो का स्त्राव कर सके सांवा जैसे कड़े प्रतिस्पर्धी को हरा सके| राज्य के बुजुर्ग किसानो के पास यह अद्भुत ज्ञान था पर पारम्परिक खेती के दिन लदने और नई अधिक उपज देने वाले प्रकारों के आगमन से यह पारम्परिक ज्ञान बिना दस्तावेजीकरण  के नष्ट होता गया| आज बहुत कम ऐसे बुजुर्ग किसान हमारे बीच है जो इस पारम्परिक कृषि विधि के बारे में जानते हैं| 

राज्य में कृषि अनुसन्धान पर प्रतिदिन जनता की गाढी कमाई के पैसे पानी की तरह बहाए जाते हैं| राज्य के शोध संस्थानों ने महंगी विदेश यात्रा करके विदेशी तकनीक को राज्य के किसानो पर थोपने में कोई कसर नही छोडी पर अपने ही राज्य के अनोखे पारम्परिक कृषि ज्ञान और असली कृषि वैज्ञानिकों यानि किसानो को कभी महत्व ही नही दिया| सही मायनों में "राईस एलिलोपैथी" दुनिया को भारत की सौगात है न कि किसी विदेशी वैज्ञानिक की सोच का परिणाम|   

छत्तीसगढ़ के मैदानी भागों के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक धान के खेतों में उग रहे खरपतवारों का प्रयोग पारम्परिक औषधीय मिश्रणों में करते रहे हैं| वे बताते है कि जब लीवर के रोगों की चिकित्सा में दूबी के प्रयोग के लिए वे धान के खेतों का रुख करते हैं तो उनकी नजर ऐसे खेतों पर होती है जहां विशेष औषधीय धान की खेती हो रही हो| पुराने जमाने में वे लाइचा के खेतों की ओर जाते थे और धान के आस-पास उग रहे दूबी को एकत्र कर लेते थे| लाइचा के एलिलोरसायन दूबी को नुकसान नही पहुंचाते हैं| आज जब लाइचा की खेती नही हो रही है ऐसे में पारम्परिक चिकित्सक औषधीय गुण सम्पन्न दूबी नही प्राप्त कर पाते हैं| धमतरी क्षेत्र के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक अपनी आवश्यकता के लिए लाइचा के करीबी प्रकार को बाडी में लगा लेते हैं और फिर उसके सत्व से दूबी को सींच लेते हैं| इससे सकारात्मक प्रभाव तो होते हैं पर लाइचा के खेत से एकत्र की गयी दूबी की तरह नही| 

औषधीय धानो की पहचान और उनके पारम्परिक उपयोगों में दक्ष पारम्परिक चिकित्सक उन्हें जड की सहायता से पहचान लेते हैं| जड़ों को पानी में भिगोकर रखा जाता है और फिर तुलसी के काढ़े से मुंह साफ़ करके जड़ों को चबाया जाता है| लाइचा की जड कसैली लगती है| यह विशेष स्वाद लाइचा को हजारों किस्मो से अलग पहचान देता है| पंकज अवधिया ने अपने वानस्पतिक सर्वेक्षणों के दौरान छत्तीसगढ़ के दूरस्थ अंचलों से लाइचा के तीन सौ से अधिक नमूने एकत्र किये पर कुछ ही नमूने पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों की कसौटी पर खरे उतरे| ये नमूने उन पारम्परिक चिकित्सको के पास सुरक्षित हैं जो इनके दुर्लभ उपयोगों को विषय में जानते हैं| 

आम किसान लाइचा को उसके एक और अनोखे गुणों के कारण जानते हैं| एक विशेष प्रकार के त्वचा रोग को स्थानीय भाषा में लाइचा कहा जाता है| इस रोग की चिकित्सा में इस धान का प्रयोग घरेलू औषधी के रूप में पहले किया जाता था| नित नये प्रयोग करने को आतुर राज्य के युवा पारम्परिक चिकित्सक श्वेत कुष्ठ या ल्यूकोडर्मा में इसके आंतरिक प्रयोग की सम्भावना खोज रहे हैं ताकि इस रोग से प्रभावित रोगियों की बढती संख्या को राहत दिलवाई जा सके| 

डायबीटीज की जटिल अवस्था में जब रोगियों की आँखे प्रभावित होने लगती है और वे अंधत्व की ओर बढने लगते है तब पारम्परिक चिकित्सक सांवा पर आधारित पारम्परिक औषधीय मिश्रणों का प्रयोग करते हैं|  पर सर्व गुण सम्पन्न सांवा की अपनी सीमाएं हैं| इसका अधिक प्रयोग पाचन तंत्र को बिगाड़ देता है| ऐसे में पारम्परिक चिकित्सक लाइचा को याद करते हैं| लाइचा न  केवल खेत में बल्कि शरीर के अंदर भी सांवा को प्रभावित करता लगता है| भात के रूप में इसका नियमित सेवन सांवा के बुरे प्रभावों पर अंकुश लगा देता है| ऐसे स्थानों में जहां लाइचा उपलब्ध नही है पारम्परिक चिकित्सक सांवा पर आधारित पारम्परिक मिश्रणों का प्रयोग नही करते है जिससे इन मिश्रणों के अस्तित्व पर खतरा मंडराने लगा है| 

प्रतिवर्ष राज्य के किसान बड़ी मात्रा में खरपतवारनाशियों का प्रयोग करते हैं| कृषि श्रमिको की घटती उपलब्धता उन्हें मजबूर करती है कि वे सब कुछ जानते हुए भी रसायनों का प्रयोग करे| कृषि रसायनों का बढ़ता प्रयोग जहां एक ओर खरपतवारों को प्रतिरोधक बनाकर सुपर वीड का विकास कर रहा है वही जमीन व भूमिगत जल स्त्रोतों को सदा के लिए प्रदूषित कर रहा है| किसान और उसका परिवार भी अपना स्वास्थ्य खो रहा है| ऐसे में लाइचा जैसे अनोखे प्राकृतिक उपहारों का स्मरण बार-बार हो आता है| धान के अधिक उत्पादन के कीर्तिमान तोड़ने की बजाय यदि गुणवता पर योजनाकार ध्यान दे, राज्य की तस्वीर ही बदल जायेगी|

ब्लूमिया: कहने को खरपतवार, जाने तो गुण अपार
- पंकज अवधिया प्रतिवर्ष बड़ी संख्या में भारतीय हानिकारक गुटखों के कारण मुख रोगों के शिकार होते हैं और कैंसर जैसे रोगों के कारण उनकी मौत हो जाती है| गुटखे के चंगुल में एक बार फंस जाने के बाद उससे निकल पाना बेहद मुश्किल हो जाता है| राज्य के पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों के पास न केवल गुटखे से होने वाले रोगों की चिकित्सा से सम्बन्धित जानकारी है बल्कि वे ऐसी वनस्पतियों के विषय में जानकारी रखते हैं जिनका गुटखे के साथ प्रयोग काफी हद तक गुटखे के दुष्प्रभाव से बचा सकता है| मैंने अपने वानस्पतिक सर्वेक्षणों के माध्यम से १८० से अधिक प्रकार की ऐसे वनस्पतियों की पहचान की है| इन वनस्पतियों में कुकरौन्दा जिसे राज्य में कुकुरमुत्ता के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, एक है| यह वनस्पति को अभी बेकार जमीन में उगते देखा जा सकता है| इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम ब्लूमिया लेसेरा है|

पारम्परिक चिकित्सक इसकी जड की सहायता से मुख रोगों की चिकित्सा पीढीयों से करते आ रहे हैं| आधुनिक विज्ञान भी इस पारम्परिक उपयोग का लोहा मानने लगा है| इसी जड को गुटखे में मिलाकर यदि नया उत्पाद बनाया जाए तो गुटखे के नुक्सान को काफी हद तक कम किया जा सकता है| आपको यह जानकार आश्चर्य होगा कि खूनी बवासीर की चिकित्सा से लेकर कैंसर जैसे जटिल रोगों की चिकित्सा में जड का प्रयोग किया जाता है| राज्य के पारम्परिक चिकित्सक ब्लूमिया के पौध भागों के एकत्रण से पहले उन्हें विभिन्न औषधीय सत्वों से सींचते हैं| इससे ब्लूमिया के पौध भाग विशेष औषधीय गुणों से परिपूर्ण हो जाते हैं| इस तरह के विशेष उपचार से वे दसों किस्म के ब्लूमिया के पौधे तैयार कर लेते हैं और अलग-अलग रोगों में उनका प्रयोग करते हैं| उनका यह विशेष ज्ञान भविष्य में ब्लूमिया की व्यवसायिक खेती में रूचि रखे वाले किसानो के लिए बड़ा ही उपयोगी साबित हो सकता है|

देश के ग्रामीण अंचलों में काफी समय से मच्छर और मख्खियों को भगाने के लिए ब्लूमिया की पत्तियों का प्रयोग किया जा रहा है| इसकी पत्तियों को जलाकर घुएं को फैला दिया जाता है| इससे काफी समय तक मच्छरों से छुटकारा मिल जाता है| यह धुंआ नुक्सान नहीं करता है बल्कि श्वांस रोगों के लिए उपयोगी माना जाता है| ब्लूमिया से बनी हर्बल सिगरेट का प्रयोग पहले पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों तक ही सीमित था पर अब देश-विदेश में इसके व्यवसायीकरण पर अनुसन्धान चल रहे हैं| राजधानी में मच्छरों के नियंत्रण के लिए जहरीले कीटनाशकों की जो फागिंग की जाती है उन कीटनाशकों का प्रयोग विदेशों में प्रतिबंधित है| ये कीटनाशक श्वांस नाली के माध्यम से फेफड़े तक पहुंच कर कैंसर जैसे रोग पैदा करते हैं| इन जहरीले कीटनाशकों के सशक्त विकल्प के रूप में ब्लूमिया का प्रयोग किया जा सकता है| खरपतवार की तरह सभी जगह आसानी से उगने के कारण इसके प्रयोग में लागत नहीं के बराबर आती है| होलिका दहन के समय बड़ी मात्रा में इसे जलाकर पूरे शहर को प्रभावी ढंग से मच्छरों से बचाया जा सकता है| बहुत से नव-उद्दमी ब्लूमिया के तेल के प्रयोग से हानिरहित मास्किटो रिपेलेंट विकसित करने में लगे हुयें हैं ताकि वर्तमान में प्रयोग किये जाने वाले घातक एलीथ्रीन नामक रसायन से मुक्ति मिल सके|

ब्लूमिया जैविक खेती कर रहे किसानो के लिए वरदान है| न केवल धान जैसी खाद्यान्न फसलों बल्कि सफेद मूसली और कस्तूरी भिन्डी जैसी औषधीय और सगंध फसलों में ब्लूमिया पर आधारित सैकड़ों पारम्परिक मिश्रणों का प्रयोग सफलतापूर्वक किया जा रहा है| बहुत से मामलों में इसे नीम से अधिक प्रभावकारी पाया गया है| पशु चिकित्सा में ब्लूमिया का प्रयोग आज भी ग्रामीण अंचलों में लोकप्रिय है| प्रतिदिन शाम को गोशालाओं में इसकी पत्तियों का धुंआ फैलाया जाता है ताकि कीटाणु नष्ट हो जाएँ|

टकला, चने की इल्ली और जैविक खेती कर रहे किसान

टकला, चने की इल्ली और जैविक खेती कर रहे किसान

"और टकला है कि नहीं?" यह मेरा अंतिम प्रश्न था|

"टकला? वह तो मुझे नहीं पता पर आप अपने मोबाइल की सहायता से उसकी तस्वीर भेजेंगे तो मैं पहचान लूंगा| या फिर आपको मैं एक ई-मेल पता देता हूँ उसमे आप तस्वीरें भेज दे| कल मेरा लड़का पड़ोस के बड़े गाँव से वह तस्वीर ले आयेगा|" उस ओर से आवाज आयी|

यह आवाज एक किसान की थी| युवा किसान आधुनिक संचार माध्यमों से जुड़ रहे हैं और कृषि में उनका लाभ उठा रहे हैं यह तो हम सब देख ही रहे हैं पर इस बार बुजुर्ग किसान में युवाओं जैसा उत्साह देखकर मैं अभिभूत हो गया| इन किसान ने बड़े क्षेत्र में चने की फसल लगाई थी| हर साल की तरह इस बार भी चने की इल्ली का आक्रमण हुआ था| पिछले दो सालों से उन्होंने जैविक खेती का रुख किया था| पहले-पहल वे नीम, धतूरे और दूसरी जहरीली वनस्पतियों का प्रयोग करते रहे पर जब उन्होंने राजस्थान से छपने वाले कृषि अमृत में मेरा लेख देखा तो उन्होंने मुझसे मिलने का मन बनाया| मेरा वह लेख देश के पारम्परिक कृषि ज्ञान से सम्बंधित था| मैंने लिखा था कि नीम, धतूरे, आक के अलावा अनगिनत अनजाने पर प्रभावशाली उपाय हैं जिनकी सहायता से हमारे किसान पीढीयों से जैविक खेती करते आये हैं| वक्त के साथ उन्हें भुला दिया गया| मैंने एक दशक से अधिक समय तक देश भर में घूम-घूम कर इस ज्ञान का दस्तावेजीकरण किया है| फलस्वरूप मेरे डेटाबेस में लाखों पारम्परिक नुस्खे एकत्र हो गए हैं| अब यह प्रयास जारी है कि इस पारम्परिक ज्ञान में वैज्ञानिक पुट डालकर फिर से इसे किसानो के बीच लोकप्रिय किया जाए और जैविक कृषि के लिए एक नयी क्रान्ति का सूत्रपात किया जाए|

चलिए वापस चने की खेती कर रहे बुजुर्ग किसान की ओर लौटते हैं| दो सालों तक नीम, धतूरे, आक, करंज जैसी वनस्पतियों को आजमाने के बाद जब इस बार इल्लियों पर इनका असर कम होने लगा तो उनके परिजनों ने दबाव डाला कि रसायनों का प्रयोग किया जाय ताकि अधिक नुक्सान न हो| कृषि रसायन बनाने वाली कम्पनियों का जमावडा अक्सर उन किसान के घर लगा होता था जब वे रसायनिक खेती करते थे| इन बुजुर्ग किसान को सारा गांव अपना मार्गदर्शक मानता था| जब से उन्होंने जैविक खेती की राह पकड़ी, कम्पनी वालों के मन में यह डर बैठ गया कि कही इनकी देखा देखी पूरा गांव ही जैविक खेती का रुख न कर लें|

मैंने उनसे आस-पास खरपतवार की तरह उग रही वन्सप्तियों की सूची माँगी और फिर फोन से ही उनके उपयोग सुझाने का प्रस्ताव दिया पर वे मुझे आने-जाने का सारा खर्च वहन कर बुलाना चाहते थे| साथ ही परामर्श शुल्क भी देना चाहते थे| किसानो से कुछ लेना बड़ा अटपटा लगता है| इसलिए मैंने उनके खर्च को न्यूनतम करने का मन बनाया और टैक्सी लेने की बजाय खुद की गाडी से गांव की ओर रुख किया|

सीधे खेत पहुंचना जरूरी था क्योकि इल्ली का प्रकोप कम समय में बहुत अधिक कहर ढा सकता है| मैंने पीले फूलों वाले शीतकालीन खरपतवार टकला को दूर से ही पहचान लिया|

"तो इसे आप टकला कहते हैं| हमारे गांव में इसका नाम अभी तक नहीं रखा गया है| यह कभी हमारे काम नहीं आया| अपने आप उगता है और बिना नुक्सान पहुंचाए खत्म हो जाता है| अब आप आ गए हैं तो हमें इसके नए उपयोगों की जानकारी मिलेगी|" उन्होंने कहा|

मैंने इशारा किया और कुछ ही समय में पर्याप्त मात्रा में टकला सहित दस प्रकार की वनस्पतियाँ एकत्र कर ली गयी| उनका सत्व निकाला गया और फिर घंटे भर में उसका छिडकाव आरम्भ हो गया| बड़ी संख्या में किसान आ चुके थे| मैंने उन्हें बताया कि टकला पर आधारित चार सौ से अधिक पारम्परिक नुस्खों की जानकारी मेरे डेटाबेस में है तो उनके आश्चर्य का ठिकाना ही नहीं रहा| देश के अलग-अलग भागों में इसे अलग-अलग नामों से पहचाना जाता है| टकला केवल फसलों को कीड़ों और रोगों से नहीं बचाता है बल्कि यह मनुष्यों के लिए उपयोगी वनस्पति है| इसके औषधीय उपयोगों के विषय में मैंने ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं दी क्योंकि स्व-चिकित्सा में आम लोग माहिर है और इसके चलते अक्सर वे अपने पैरों में कुल्हाड़ी मार बैठते हैं| चैनल वाले बाबा एलो वेरा खाने को कहते हैं और आम लोग खाने लगते हैं| जब उन्हें परेशानी होती है तो फिर चैनल का रुख करते हैं तब तक बाबा जा चुके होते है| यह एक तरफा और आधा-अधूरा संवाद जन-स्वास्थ्य के लिए खतरा बनता जा रहा है|

टकला आधारित सत्व को असर दिखाने में एक दिन का वक्त लगाने वाला था| परिणाम आते तक रुकना संभव नहीं था , इसलिए लौटने की तैयारी करने लगा| सत्व को सही तरीके से कैसे डाला जाए और किस अवस्था में एकत्रण किया जाए इसकी जानकारी मैं पहले ही दे चुका था| टकला आधारित सत्व को कैसे और अधिक प्रभावी बनाया जाय इसकी भी जानकारी बुजुर्ग किसान को मिल गयी थी| गांव आते समय गांव के बाहर कुछ उपयोगी वृक्ष दिखे थे| एक छोटा सा जंगल था| मुझे लगा कि जंगल को पास से देख आना चाहिए| हो सकता है कुछ काम का मिल जाए| बुजुर्ग किसान ने अपने बेटे को साथ कर दिया| जंगल में कर्रा, भिर्रा और जर्रा जैसे उपयोगी वृक्ष दिख गए| इनके सत्वो के साथ टकला का सत्व बड़े प्रभावकारी ढंग से काम करता है| लौटकर मैंने इन सत्वो की जानकारी बुजुर्ग किसान को देनी चाही तो उन्होंने कहा कि पहले दी गयी जानकारी अपने आप में पर्याप्त है| यदि और जानकारी की जरूरत हुयी तो मुझे फिर से बुला लिया जाएगा|

वापसी से पहले मैंने बुजुर्ग किसान ने असफल नुस्खों के बारे में विस्तार से जानकारी ली और उन्हें आश्वस्त किया कि मैं जल्दी ही इसमें सुधार कर नए नुस्खों की जानकारी भेजूंगा|

दूसरे दिन अल सुबह ही बुजुर्ग किसान का फोन आ गया| साथ में आमन्त्रण भी कि आस-पास के गाँव भी मेरी सेवायें लेना चाहते हैं| उन्हें लग रहा था कि नया काम मिलाने से मुझे अच्छा परामर्श शुल्क मिल जाएगा और इस तरह वे सफलता के लिए तहे दिल से धन्यवाद कर पायेंगे| मैंने उनसे अनुरोध किया कि वे स्वयम ही इस ज्ञान का प्रचार प्रसार करें| मुझे पारम्परिक चिकित्सकों से मिलने जंगल जाना है| एक सप्ताह से पहले वापसी संभव नहीं है|
