विदेशी कीट जाइगोग्रामा पर नजर
गाजर घास के साथ मेरे दो दशक (भाग-5)
वनस्पतियो विशेषकर खरपतवारो को खाने वाले कीटो मे मेरी सदा से रुचि रही है। मैने ब्लूमिया नामक खरपतवार पर क्राइसोलिना नामक कीट को न केवल खोजा बल्कि लम्बे समय तक इस पर काम भी किया। पर कीटो से खरपतवार नियंत्रण पर मै संश्य की स्थिति मे रहा। दुनिया भर के सन्दर्भ साहित्य बताते है कि कैसे कीटो को विशेष खरपतवारो के लिये छोडा गया और शीघ्र ही उन्होने अपना रंग दिखाया और दूसरी वनस्पतियो को खाने लगे। ये मित्र से शत्रु बन गये। कीटो से खरपतवार नियंत्रण हमेशा ही से खतरो भरा रहा है। गाजर घास के नियंत्रण के लिये जाइगोग्रामा नामक कीट का उपयोग होता है। हमारे देश मे इस पर गहन अनुसन्धान हुये है। शुरु मे यह हल्ला हुआ कि गाजर घास के लिये छोडा गया जाइगोग्रामा सूर्यमुखी को नुकसान पहुँचा रहा है। एक जाँच समिति बनायी गयी जिसने फैसला दिया कि ऐसा कुछ नही है। उसके बाद इस कीट को प्रकृति मे गाजर घास के नियंत्रण के लिये छोडे जाने की अनुमति मिल गयी। हमारे वैज्ञानिको ने इसे बहुत सी वनस्पतियो पर आजमाया और बताया कि ये किसी भी परिस्थिति मे गाजर घास के अलावा कुछ नही खाते। आज देश भर मे इन कीटो को देखा जा सकता है। गाजर घास की तरह ही यह कीट भी विदेशी है।
कुछ वर्षो पहले मैने अपने ग्रुप के माध्यम से यह प्रश्न किया कि कितनी वनस्पतियो पर इस कीट को परखा जा चुका है? तो जवाब मिला सैकडो पर हमारे देश मे तो हजारो वनस्पतियाँ है। ज्यादातर वनस्पतियाँ वनो मे है और दिव्य औषधीय गुणो से भरपूर है। क्या इन सभी पर इस कीट के परीक्षण किये गये है? वैज्ञानिक बगले झाँकने लगे और बोले सब पर परीक्षण कहाँ सम्भव है? आर्थिक महत्व की फसलो और कुछ पेडो पर इसका परीक्षण हुआ है। फिर इसी आधार पर इस छोड दिया गया है। मै इस आधे-अधूरे परीक्षण के पक्ष मे नही हूँ। कालांतर मे कही ये अभिशाप न बन जाये इसकी मुझे अधिक चिंता है। आज कृषि वैज्ञानिक फसलो पर अनुसन्धान तक सीमित है। जबकि ये कीट जंगलो मे भी फैले है। इनकी संख्या मे लगातार वृद्धि हो रही है। क्या कभी किसी ने यह जानने की कोशिश की है कि देशी चिडिया जब इस कीट को खाती है तो इस नयी कीट से उस पर और अंतोगत्वा उसकी आबादी पर क्या असर पडता है? प्रकृति मे बहुत से उपयोगी कीट भी है। कही ये विदेशी कीट इन कीटो पर नकारात्मक प्रभाव तो नही डाल रहे है? कौन हर जगह इन पर नजर रखे हुये है? आदि-आदि बहुत से प्रश्न है जो सिर उठाये खडे है। इनका जवाब किसी के पास नही है। जैसे ही इस कीट ने कुछ गलत किया अचानक ही हंगामा खडा हो जायेगा। मेरे बहुत से वैज्ञानिक मित्र इन प्रश्नो को सुनकर कह देते है कि यह पूरी तरह से सेफ है पर वे बिना किसी वैज्ञानिक प्रमाण के ये बात कहते है। अब चूँकि वे वैज्ञानिक है इसलिये बिना परीक्षण ही राय देने लगे और हम मानने भी लगे-ये कैसे हो सकता है? हमारे देश मे मुठ्ठी भर लोग ही इन विषयो पर निर्णय लेते है। इन निर्णयो मे आम लोगो की राय नही ली जाती है। समस्या आती भी है तो फिर ये मुठ्ठी भर लोग ही उसे सुलझा लेते है। अपने किसी को फँसने नही देते है। यही कारण है कि मेरे द्वारा उठाये गये प्रश्न अभी तक अनुत्तरित है और मेरी आवाज नक्कारखाने मे तूती की आवाज साबित हो रही है।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय एलिलोपैथी सम्मेलन मे भाग लेने मै धारवाड गया तो इन कीटो के प्रति अपना मोह नही छोड पाया। कुछ कीट एकत्र कर लिये और उन्हे लेकर वापस रायपुर लौट गया। रास्ते मे ट्रेन मे सहयात्रियो के लिये ये कौतूहल का विषय रहा। मुझे इस बहाने उन्हे गाजर घास के बारे मे बताने का मौका मिल गया। रायपुर आकर मैने अपनी प्रयोग शाला मे इन कीटो को रखा और कई प्रकार के परीक्षण किये। नयी वनस्पतियो को खिलाया फिर पूर्ण सूर्य ग्रहण के दौरान कीटो पर इसका असर देखने के लिये मैने जिन कीटो को चुना उनमे जाइगोग्रामा भी था। उन दिनो मै अपने प्लास्टिक खाने वाले कीट पर शोध कर रहा था। इन्हे भी इस कीट के साथ रखा। मै इन्हे प्रकृति मे छोडने से बचता रहा।
जैसे-जैसे जाइगोग्रामा ने देश मे फैलना शुरु किया देश भर से गाजर घास को खाने वाले नये कीट की खोज के दावे सामने आने लगे। मुझे ढेरो पत्र मिले जिनमे यह दावा किया गया था कि उन्होने गाजर घास को खाने वाले कीडे को खोज निकाला है और इसके लिये उन्हे इनाम मिलना चाहिये। जब उन्हे बताया जाता कि इसे वैज्ञानिको ने ही छोडा है तो वे दुखी हो जाते। इस क़ीट को छोडने के कुछ समय बाद ही यह बात स्पष्ट हो गयी कि अकेले इसके बूते पर गाजर घास का समूल नाश सम्भव नही है। जबलपुर जहाँ इस कीट पर सबसे अधिक अनुसन्धान हुआ है, मे गाजर घास का फैलाव बदस्तूर जारी रहा। वहाँ असंख्य कीट छोडे जा चुके है। यही स्थिति कमोबेश पूरे देश की है। यह कीट पूरे वर्ष सक्रिय नही रहते पर गाजर घास साल भर न केवल सक्रिय रहती है बल्कि बीजोत्पादन भी करती रहती है। देश की अलग-अलग वातावरणीय परिस्थितियो ने भी इसके जीवन-चक्र पर प्रभाव डाला है। प्रयोगशाला मे जिस तेजी से ये गाजर घास को खाते दिखते है प्रकृति मे ऐसा नही होता है। इस कीट को बाँटने का कार्य अब भी जोर-शोर से जारी है। बहुत से अनुसन्धान संस्थान कीट मुहैया करवा रहे है और देश भर अभियान चलाकर इन्हे छोडा जा रहा है।
आस्ट्रेलिया मे कई उपयोगी कीटो की पहचान की गयी पर भारत मे जाइगोग्रामा का प्रयोग ही हो रहा है। यह बडे आश्चर्य का विषय है कि गाजर घास को खाने वाले देशी कीट की अभी तक खोज नही हो पायी है। देशी कीट देश की वातावरणीय परिस्थितियो मे विदेशी कीटो से अधिक दक्षता से काम कर सकते है।
