Karanj (Pongamia) tree is present in India since time immemorial.
Since generations it is giving returns to farmers. Now it is under
promotion as biodiesel tree. Farmers have many questions specially
about it assured market. Through this research article author has

मैं सबसे पहले यह जानना चाहता हू कि रतनजोत और करंज में बेसिक अंतर क्या है। दूसरी बात क्या वाकई ये डीजल के वैकल्पिक ईंधन हैं। हाल ही में एक विदेशी पत्रकार ने लिखा था कि इससे प्रर्यावरण को भारी खतरा है। क्या बिना किसी प्रयोग के लोकप्रियता के लिए इसे प्रचारित किया जा रहा है। प्रदेश में पिछले कई सालों से कराड़ों खर्च कर उपजाऊ जमीनों में रतनजोत लगाया जा रहा है। रमन सिंह जी बायोडीजल से अपनी गाड़ी चला रहे हैं। गाड़ी और प्रर्यावरण पर पड़ने वाले दुष्परिणामों का कोई आंकलन हुआ है।
