शक्कर के हर्बल विकल्प के रूप मे स्टीविया का प्रयोग बढता जा रहा है। पर अमेरिका के एफ.डी.ए. द्वारा इसके उपयोग की अनुमति न दिया जाना कई प्रकार के संश्य पैदा करता है। भारत मे इसकी खेती हो रही है। नये किसान सशंकित है कि कही इसका हाल भी सफेद मूसली की तरह न हो। दुनिया भर के वे लोग जो कि विभिन्न रूपो मे इस वनस्पति से जुडे हुये है, को एक मंच पर लाने हेतु याहू पर स्टीविया ग्रुप का गठन फरवरी 2005 मे किया गया। आप भी इसके सदस्य बनकर इस नयी औषधीय फसल के विषय मे अपना ज्ञान बढा सकते है।
